A First Look at the Cover of Our Lord of the Flowers

A First Look at the Cover of Our Lord of the Flowers

I am thrilled to share the preliminary cover concept for my upcoming novel, Our Lord of the Flowers.

While this design may continue to evolve, I wanted to give you a glimpse into the soul of this project. This cover is deeply personal: the title is rendered in my own handwriting, creating a direct, human connection between my process and your reading experience.

Look closely at the blue petals, and you’ll find hidden motifs of Xochipilli, the Aztec "Prince of Flowers." This deity is the heart of a story that explores the intersection of grief, hoarded houses, and gender. For fans of the Aztecverse, this is a pivotal moment—Xochipilli makes his first-ever appearance in this universe, bringing secrets and revelations that will change everything.

Pre-Orders Coming Soon

Pre-orders for Our Lord of the Flowers (in paperback and e-book format) will begin in March. If you would like to see it in hardcover format, please contact me. If we get enough interest in the paperback, we will do that, too.

About My Design Process

This is the first version of the cover. In this project, I did the graphic design, as I have done for all my previous book covers. The pink handwriting is actually my own handwriting. It gives the book a personal touch that also describes the intimacy of this novel. Please reach out if you have feedback.
