The Flower Prince in the Nexus: Expanding the Aztecverse

The Flower Prince in the Nexus: Expanding the Aztecverse

This is the first new image of the 2026 from me, and it reflects the emergence of the novel. This new photo, titled Renuevo, is symbol, metaphor, and fact—all wrapped up into one single scene that evokes the presence of Xochipilli, somewhere in this house.

For those who have followed my journey, you know that this is not a beginning, but a deepening. I was born and raised in Mexico City (CDMX), and the Aztecverse is the lifelong artistic mission I have been cultivating since 2013. Every project I undertake—every word I commit to the page—is a way of describing the ways in which the Aztec goddesses and gods enter our dimension.

A Universe Manifested: From 13 Secret Cities to OLF

In the Aztecverse, the deities are never mere background noise; they are the architects of the narrative. Readers of 13 Secret Cities saw this through the cosmic conflict of the Four Tezcatlipocas. Now, with my current project, OLF, the scope is widening further to include even more Aztec gods and goddesses.

I am currently using the canvas of my body to tell parts of the story found in the novel Our Lord of the Flowers. It is a literal manifestation of the mythos—moving the Aztecverse from the digital page into the physical world. The image you see here is a "nexus" where the ancient and the modern meet. It's also suggestive of the journey that Sir Vitrum takes through his past, and his father's past, through the medium of the house and hoard his father left behind.

The Prince of Flowers: Xochipilli’s Presence

To understand why this image is so potent, one must understand Xochipilli, the "Prince of Flowers." In Nahua mythology, he is the divine patron of creativity, song, and the soul’s blooming.

  • The Muse of the Expanse: He represents the transformation of raw nature into sacred art. His presence in my home signifies that the work is "flowering" in its true form.
  • Temicxoch (The Flowery Dream): This is the state of creative ecstasy where the artist connects with the divine. It has been the backbone of my process for over a decade.
  • Deep Dive: You can explore his iconography further at the World History Encyclopedia or see his famous statue via the National Museum of Anthropology.

Evolution of the Epic: A Writing Update

I am currently in the thick of a grand-scale restructuring of the novel. While some might call this "rewriting," I see it as refining the architecture of an epic. This is the hardest but most exhilarating phase of the work.

I am evolving the story from its original serial format to give it a much broader scope. This expansion allows the narrative to breathe and provides a gateway for readers to understand Aztec myth in ways that are both visceral and new. I am not just telling a story; I am building a world that honors the complexity of our ancestors.
